Heard Park Parnell is lit up again this Christmas season with a Giant Christmas Bauble (pictured above) to bring joy, cheer and magic to Auckland families. With a giant Christmas bauble, providing an interactive light installation for all to enjoy along with Christmas motifs hiding in the hedges, it’s a fun to visit with the kids before bedtime and for a play on the swings in Heard Park.

Get into the Christmas spirit with MOTAT this December over twelve magical evenings.
MOTAT’s heritage buildings, streetscapes and trams will be beautifully lit up with Christmas lights.
There’ll be plenty of things to see and do with live entertainment, Christmas movies, carolers, Christmas card making, snow falling, lolly making demonstrations. Plus meet Santa in his grotto.
Cost: Adults are $5. Kids aged 5 to 15 are $2 each and kids under 5 are FREE.

Glenbrook Christmas Lights Trains Event Information
Glenbrook Vintage Railway will be lighting up Franklin with festive cheer this year with its award winning Christmas experience. The Counties Power Christmas Lights Trains at Night event will see the charitable organisation’s trains, station and buildings dressed in Christmas lights, with a special Christmas Express train service, visits from Santa, a Christmas market and much more.
The first train is at 7pm each evening, and will leave approximately every half hour to the workshops and return until 11pm.
Price: Under 2’s are FREE; General admission $10 each. Tickets include one train ride and entry.

Every December, something spectacular happens as the Eastgate Christian Centre building is turned into a Christmas Lightshow to celebrate the festive season. With over 55,000 lights dancing to music and story, you can’t help but be entertained. Tune into 88.1FM to listen the story to the show from the seat of your car, or step outside and experience it up close at the front of the church.
This is a free community event that is suitable for all ages.

You can see Smith & Caughey’s 2020 animated Christmas window display from now at their Queen Street store until Christmas Eve. Explore the enchanted forest from 21 November and have your photo taken with Santa. You can either book your visit in advance here to avoid the queue or turn up on the day and wait in line.

Their Facebook page says: “This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, but after some careful consideration with the current climate, we feel that it would be irresponsible to hold the event. With the thousands of people that come every night, we are unwilling to take the risk for our community…. Their chosen charity this year was Variety The Children’s Charity.
