Learning to ride a two-wheeler is one of those big childhood milestones, and being a part of that experience as a parent is a thrill. However, if you are wondering how to get started, or experiencing a few bumps along the way then check out the #Learn2Ride sessions. Auckland Transport's team of qualified instructors work alongside parents to get kids riding. Whether starting on a balance bike or making the transition to pedals the team is there to help. If your child doesn't yet have a bike but is keen to give it a go, there will be bikes available on a limited basis.

The annual Willow Park School Gala is always a fantastic family day out with fantastic carnival games and activities including the Lucky Jar, NZ Map, Pie Face, Bean Bag Toss, Angry Birds Slingshot, Toilet Paper Toss, Dino Dig, Balloon Pinata and Nerf Gun Shoot Em Experience the gigantic inflatable obstacle course, little drifters, hot rods and water rollers on the school pool. A wide range of food and drinks, entertainment, quick-fire raffles, plant stall, cake stall and book stall – there really is something for everyone.

Fireworks are only on sale for three days from Tuesday 2 to Saturday 4 November leading up to Guy Fawkes Day on Sunday 5 November in New Zealand. There are no rules about when during the year you can set fireworks off, however there are some rules about where. It is best to only light fireworks on your own property, far away from anything that could catch fire. You should also show respect to your neighbours, especially those with young children or pets.
