Rainbow’s End reopens on Friday 15th May

Rainbow’s End is able to reopen this Friday, the 15th May at COVID-19 Alert Level 2.  

Rainbow’s End will have the same thrills, with important extra measures for health and safety.  Rainbow’s End will reopen with additional procedures that meet all precautions and guidance from Government and Ministry of Health experts.

Since 1982 New Zealand’s premier Theme Park has been delighting family and friends with the biggest and best rides in town. Rainbow’s End started with a set of bumper boats and a big dream in the middle of 7.3 hectares down the end of the Southern Motorway. Thirty-eight years later they’ve built over 20 rides and attractions, and are still chasing the rainbow with a new ride on the horizon. Rainbow’s End is one of Auckland’s favourite places to escape from the everyday and experience thrilling moments with loved ones, creating special memories and traditions.

Rainbow’s End is 100% owned by Rangatira Limited, a NZ diversified investment company. Rangatira has been making long-term investments  in New Zealand companies for more than 80 years on behalf of 100% New Zealand shareholders, around two thirds of whom are charitable organisations. Visiting Rainbow’s End is a great way to treat the family while supporting  local.

You can expect the same awesome thrills, with extra measures getting into and around the park to keep everyone safe, well, distanced and contactable.  

How you get in, what attractions you can access and what you can bring into the park is different at Level 2

  • Limited Guests  – book early to avoid disappointment! Only 40% of typical capacity on site. No groups greater than 10 people.

  • You need to book a ticket BEFORE you get to the gate. Online tickets and bookings only,  to manage reduced guest count, reduce gate contact, and ensure contact tracing.

  • Big park attractions only – Kidz Kingdom remains closed. This means birthday rooms are not available.

  • Your ticket booking date is the date you must visit. You cannot use the ticket on another date.

  • Riding passes (Superpasses) only, to reduce spectator clusters

  • Open only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays & School Holidays, to reduce total throughput at level 2

  • No banding, which means no re-entry if you exit during the session.

  • No external food or party kits (except for small packaged snacks)

  • No cash in park – card only

  • Additional cleaning procedures, including a full disinfection of rides, games, and storage surfaces between guests, and plenty of hand sanitizer stations.
