We went to the opening of ARBORIA this afternoon with our kids. ARBORIA is a colourful luminarium of dazzling tunnels and soaring domes that is fun for the kids (and the adults) to explore.
The kids were itching to get inside the strange looking luminarium. The kids were entertained making bubble wands while they waited to go in. Auckland Live is presenting Square Kids - free musical, theatrical and magic performances to keep the kids entertained while ARBORIA is in town.
Our kids loved walking through the winding tunnels and arriving in the different coloured domes. They couldn't believe how beautiful it looked inside and that the different colours were created just from the natural day light shining through the coloured plastic.
ARBORIA is dedicated to the theme of trees designed by Alan Parkinson. There are patterns and forms of a forest, with luminous trunks, leaves and branches.
ARBORIA is made from plastic which was cut and glued together by hand by the Architects of Air in England. The plastic is delicate so you need to make sure your kids stay on the paths and off the walls, which can be tricky with younger kids who found it so much fun.
