ASIAN(SOUND)SCAPES

ASIAN(SOUND)SCAPES is a family-friendly FREE local community event at Balmoral’s Potter’s Park featuring busking performances by over 100 pan-Asian-kiwi musicians, artists & performers over the first weekend of July.

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE:

Saturday | Street Talk “Pop, Lock & Break it” 3v3 Street Dance Battle • 12 pm–4 pm
Sunday | Papaya Stories Silent Disco Citywalk • 12 pm–4 pm
Sunday | Kōrero with The Superhero Reader • 10 am–4 pm

From stand-up comedy by pan-Asian comics, Tai Chi workshops, and spoken word performances to a diverse lineup of singer-songwriters, storytellers, virtuosos and bands, ASIAN(SOUND)SCAPES will have a lil’ something for everyone.

WHAT TO BRING: Koha to support buskers, BYO gumboots, Swanndri/raincoat, a chair if you don’t want a wet bum, umbrellas, etc. in case we have a free natural shower.

This busking extravaganza is brought to you by Where the Asians At?! (Aotearoa), a collective that is working hard to create occasions and experiences that celebrate local Pan-Asian talent in Aotearoa.ASIAN(SOUND)SCAPES is supported by the Local Activation Fund Programme, administered by Tātaki Auckland Unlimited on behalf of the New Zealand Government.
