Butterfly Creek Now reopen at Alert Level 2

Butterfly Creek will be open to the public Wednesdays through to Sundays and on Queens Birthday weekend during Alert Level 2.

As well as a great opening special they have some new friends – a new kiwi called Awa and Cheryl the American Alligator. Plus say hello to their farm animals, crocodiles, otters, unicorns, mermaids, dinosaurs and more. So treat the kids to a fun day out.

Butterfly Creek have been fortunate to secure some spectacular butterflies from Central America, but due to travel delays these butterflies may not be active straight away as they are still emerging from their pupae each day. Animal encounters cannot run at Alert Level 2. However all other attractions are up and running and the animals are super excited to see you all.

Queen’s Birthday weekend: Butterfly Creek encourage booking online if you want to visit this weekend (Sat, Sun or Mon) as we have had to limit numbers to manage capacity.

Keeping you safe:
Butterfly Creek is a very large venue with many open areas and a number of enclosed indoor spaces. We can easily absorb visitors across our site whilst maintaining Covid-19 recommendations including the 1m separation. No single confined space will exceed the 100 person limit. This includes the café where tables will be spaced and table service provided.

Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 9.30am to 4.00pm (last entry 3.00pm)
Weekends, Queens Birthday and School Holidays: 9.30am to 5.00pm (last entry 4.00pm)
