Farmers Santa Parade 2020

The Farmers Santa Parade is celebrating its 87th birthday in 2020, delivering sacksful of Christmas cheer to thousands of kiwi families. Spectators can look forward to the usual dazzling display of floats, marching bands, entertainers and characters from TV and film … plus an appearance by Santa Claus! Pre parade entertainment starts at 12pm. The Parade Route starts at the corner of Cook Street and Mayoral Drive at 1pm, turns left in to Queen Street, travels down Queen Street and turns right finishing up in Customs Street East.

The Parade Route is 1.8km long and takes approximately 1 hour to pass any given point.

Top Tip:
The best (unknown) viewing spots are Mayoral Drive and the corner of Upper Queen Street and Mayoral Drive. There is usually ample space to even lay down a picnic blanket and then wander down to Aotea Square afterward!

Road Closure:
All inner city roads are closed between 11am and 5pm on Sunday 29 November 2020. Families are advised to get into the city before 11am to avoid frustration with traffic and parking.

Immediately following the Parade Santa’s Party will see Aotea Square burst into festive life with FREE entertainment for the whole whanau from 2:30pm to 5pm. The fun continues off stage with rides, food vendors, sponsor activations, and even one last chance to see Santa before he heads back to the North Pole to pack the slay for Christmas Eve.
