July school holidays at Auckland Zoo

Join Auckland Zoo these school holidays (6 July – 21 July) for a very special Matariki themed programme.  Matariki, the Māori New Year, is a time to gather with family to celebrate new beginnings and reflect on the past. Kids will learn the story of Matariki and discover the stunning nocturnal creatures that come alive at night.

With a special activity sheet, families will explore Te Wao Nui (the Aotearoa precinct) to learn all about our New Zealand animals and what makes them so special to us. After journeying through the Zoo, finish your visit by checking out the Domes to collect your final Matariki sticker, marvel at our fantastic Matariki digital installation and enjoy fun family activities while you’re there.
