Families can now enjoy easier access to Auckland's public outdoor art thanks to a new website NZ Outdoor Art that showcases local artists and highlights the abundance of art hiding in plain sight on Auckland and New Zealand streets.
NZ Outdoor Art uses Google Maps to pinpoint street artwork. You can use it to find out where to take your family to expore, or to find out who the artist is of the street art that you have seen.
The popular Auckland Live Pick & Mix family programme of free performances and workshops by top New Zealand talent is back for winter weekends.
This year, Auckland Live Pick & Mix has twelve weekends of exciting arts experiences from 24 June to 10 September. The performances take place in the Auckland Town Hall, Aotea Centre, Bruce Mason Centre and Mangere Arts Centre.
The workshops and performances are designed for first-time audiences aged three and up. Each performance (apart from Whales) has unallocated seating so you don't need to book, and come and go as you please. The workshops are interactive and follow each performance, you can choose just to see the performance, or you can stay and attend the free workshop afterwards.
Auckland Live Pick & Mix 2017 programme features a selection of New Zealand's most entertaining and artistically excellent arts companies including: The New Zealand Dance Company; Te Rēhia Theatre; Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra’s ACE Brass; Trick of The Light; Binge Culture; Trash Puppets; Rollicking Entertainment; Black Friars; Royal Jelly; Freshmans Dance Crew and the ever-popular White Face Crew.
