This year at the 2016 NZ International Comedy Festival there is a Stand-Up comedy show just for kids and families. Stand-Up For Kids is a family-friendly, interactive show featuring awesome local and international Festival comedians. Watch them bring their stand-up, physical comedy and magic to the stage for your four to eight year olds to get a bit silly. With a variety of performers and comedic styles, these clean sets give comics a challenge to explore the absurd and the extravagant, finding humour that appeals to both young and old.
Your host, Chris Parker, is no stranger to the imaginative world of kids. His recent solo show, No More Dancing in the Good Room, delves into his own childhood through dance and comedy. He earned a Best Newcomer Award for his performance in the 2015 NZ International Comedy Festival, alongside rave reviews and sell-out houses. His return season in February 2016 was just as popular, if not more! Each week, he will be joined by a top selection of Festival comedians, to be announced. With all our powers combined, this will be a riotous event reminding us adults that laughter rules the Universe. And as we all know, adults are just big kids - so they get the kids' price too! “Laugh it up, fuzz ball” – Han Solo “The best possible way to unleash our silly side” – Keeping Up With NZ The Saturday 14 May show in Auckland will be interpreted into NZ Sign Language for the Deaf community by an iSign NZSL Interpreter.
