Northcote www.naturespace.org.nz/groups/kauri-glen-bush-society One and half hour loop tract that goes through beautiful bush with Kauri, Totara, Taraire, Tawa, Rewarewa, Maire and other native trees and plants. There is a board walk in parts. If you are luck you might spot the eels, fish and crayfish that live in the stream.
6. Kauri Point Centennial Park, Chatswood
Access off Onetaunga Road, Chatswood
Beautiful kauri park that goes down to Kendall Bay. Enjoy the views back to Auckland City across the harbour. Kendall Bay is a lovely spot for your family to swim.
7. Kauri Park
Entry points at Rangitira Road and Hebe Place, Birkenhead Forest with Kauri trees up to 400 years old, with a large stream the goes into Soldier Bay. As the walk is quite steep this is more suitable for older children.
