Sherwood Reserve Playground

We discovered this hidden gem on Glencoe Road in Browns Bay and it kept my children (aged 7 and 5) entertained for ages!
You enter the playground through a unique wooden castle pavilion which leads on one side to a drawbridge and a large play area featuring climbing bars, a slide, a bridge, monkey bars, a seesaw, basket swing and lots of other fun stuff. There is also a picnic area with thrones and large wooden tables and benches. This section is great for preschoolers and primary school aged children.
The other side of the castle pavilion leads to an impressive wooden obstacle course, the longest one we have ever encountered in an Auckland playground, where children can cross for ages without touching the ground. Beyond that there is a crow’s nest for climbing perfect for primary school aged children and beyond. There are also 2 massive swings which would be great for older children.
Sherwood Reserve which surrounds the playground has a concrete path that winds through it, making it perfect for scooters and bikes or a very pleasant walk.
We think the playground is suitable for children of all ages as there is something for every age group to enjoy.
