APO 4 Kids Christmas

Delight your pre-schoolers with some orchestral fun for the festive season! Actor Kevin Keys presents a concert that will give the littlies a chance to sing-along, dance-along and conduct-along to favourite carols and Christmas songs. The APO will also be joined by special guest Moe from The Moe Show live on stage with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.The fun doesn’t stop there! Prior to the start of the concert, kids are invited to the Music Zoo where they get to learn about the instruments of the orchestra up close. At the end of the show, guests can also experience a walk-through of the orchestra as the musicians play the final performances of the day.

Auckland Transport’s team of qualified instructors work alongside parents to get kids riding. Whether starting on a balance bike or making the transition to pedals the team is there to help. Sessions are weather dependent and run on a drop-in basis. Bring your own bike or try one of theirs.

I Love Takapuna Christmas Carnival

Hurstmere Road will be closed to celebrate Christmas in Takapuna! Rumour has it, Santa will come along to enjoy the day too!

Shakespear Snorkel Day

Saturday 1 December 2018: 10:00am to 3:00pm the waters of the Hauraki Gulf at Shakespear Regional Park with an experienced snorkel guide; you never know what you might spot? Discover pipefish, triplefins or nudibranchs. Fun for the whole whanau. Either at Te Haruhi Bay or Army Bay – Weather permitting. Follow the EMR signs. Bring your own gear or get free hire of our mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuits. Recommended for everyone 5 years and up. All children under 15 years must be accompanied by an adult beach observer. MUKA Youth Prints

Muka Youth Prints is a very special exhibition and art sale for people 5 to 19 years of age only. For 32 years the iconic touring art event has been giving young people the chance to start their own art collection. Each year muka studio invited a number of New Zealand and international artists to exclusively produce a set of original signed and numbered lithographs. The names and signatures of the artists are covered inviting people under 19 to view and appreciate art without any adult influence. Putting the real thing directly in the hands of young people makes it part of their world, very often it became the start of a lifelong interest and passion.
