Welcome to the Funatorium! Hats on! Tea poured! Silly faces at the ready! You’re invited to the best tea party in town with the biggest tricks, larger-than-life characters and the catchiest tunes.Inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, enter a weird and wonderful world with incredible acrobatics, circus, singing, dancing and roller skates! Head down the rabbit hole to a psychedelic tea party with popping toadstools in a vast grassy space. Meet a plate-spinning hare, grinning Cheshire Cat, The Queen of Hearts and a cheeky Spanish flamingo who all bring hilarious antics to the stage.


Tickets: Children under 3 are FREE provided they do not occupy a seat; Children 3 years old and over $19 to $33; Adult $21 to $39.



Mad Hatter’s Garden Cafe

A festive feast served alongside a massive slice of chaotic circus cabaret in the pop-up Mad Hatter’s Garden Café. There you will find a sumptuous selection of delectable high-tea eats, served up by the Mad Hatter along with some very special guests. The Mad Hatter promises his drinks won’t shrink you and his high teas won’t make you tall, but he does guarantee that there will be croquet on the front lawn!

Cost: High tea for 2 $35; High tea for 4 $66.

Christmas Lights at MOTAT

Meet Santa and his elves and share in the magic of Christmas while experiencing the Museum’s heritage buildings, streetscapes and trams beautifully lit up with sparkling fairy lights.  Starting at 8pm each night, there’ll be a myriad of things to see and do with live entertainment, outdoor movies, tram rides, carollers, Santa’s grotto and more!

Cost: $2 entry and FREE for under 5s.


Butterfly Egg Hunt at Auckland Museum


Auckland Museum, The Auckland Domain, Parnell, Auckland

Despite their virtual nature, it seems the butterflies from The Secret Life of Butterflies have been laying eggs around the Auckland Museum. Find them all before they start to hatch and eat the objects! Follow the clues and find out how many there to be humanely transported  to the nearest swan plant. Pick up a trail from the information desks.

Above and Beyond presented by Boeing and developed in collaboration with NASA and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum brings the wonder of flight to life.   Design your own virtual jet and race against other players in a high-speed flying competition, be transformed into virtual birds through motion-sensing technology and ascend to Earth’s orbit in a simulated space elevator.

The Christmas Confetti Room Grand Opening

The Christmas Confetti Room is an entirely Christmas themed room, filled with confetti and Christmas music to create the ultimate festive activity for the whole whānau.
