Under the direction of the creative team from Tim Bray Youth Theatre, students will have the opportunity to explore their performance skills, build confidence, and create a unique piece of theatre, ready to ‘Hit the Stage!’ at the end of the week with a free entry performance for family and friends. Workshops are offered for kids aged 7 to 12 years.

The week is designed to build the young actor’s confidence and skill, incorporating aspects of stagecraft such as ensemble work, voice, movement, improvisation, characterisation, even singing and script work if required in the show.

Extraordinarily Creative is an innovative and unique programme for autistic and neurodivergent children and teens in a safe and dedicated environment where everyone’s unique abilities and gifts are celebrated and students are allowed to grow and shine in their own space (Takiwātanga). In this daily 1-hour workshop students’ exceptional brains and energy are embraced, and through acting techniques they are guided in a journey of self-discovery.

Through drama exercises, students will play out emotions and experiences in the workshops, allowing them to build on their emotional language and understand  their feelings better. Fun interactions with classmates and experienced tutors helps to build communication abilities, grows social skills and creates friendships.

April School Holiday Workshop

Monday 18 to Friday 22 July 2022
Workshop runs from 9am to 3pm and extended hours from 8am to 5:30pm (4pm on final show day) are included to cater for busy parents.

Every school holidays Kids Up Front works with enthusiastic boys and girls (aged 5 to 13 years) to put on a fabulous Musical Show. Children have singing, dancing and drama sessions in their age groups with specialist tutors. The programme culminates on the last day with a wonderful musical show in the theatre at 3pm for parents and friends to enjoy.

School Holiday Songwriting and Recording Workshop

Workshops run in each of the school holidays

Learn how to write and record a song with Crescendo. The holiday workshops covers song composition and recording. Learn top tips and tricks and as a group write a song together on day one, followed by audio engineering skills on day two to record the song.

This is a compact hands-on workshop open to 14-18 year olds who are interested in songwriting or recording.

Artz On Show run school holiday workshops to educate young students aged 5-15 in all facets of the Arts while helping to build confidence and self-esteem.

Each workshop is centered around a theme, with the July 2022 school holiday activities being based on Moana. Workshops inspire creative choices in music and script, offering a variety of Performing Arts classes during the school holidays with students working towards performing in a final showcase.

Brickworks Drama School Online holiday programme

In Week One of the April School Holidays Brickworks will be running their popular drama workshops again! Workshops are offered for kids aged 6 – 9 years old, and 10 – 14 years old. Each workshop is a self-contained day with a central theme, finishing with a showcase by the kids at 3pm for their parents and caregivers.

The students gain confidence, enhancing their communication and teamwork skills through fun games and exercises taught by the experienced Brickworks drama tutors.

Dance away the holidays and join in the fun! Over one week 8 to 12 year olds learn a variety of dance techniques and routines with fun games and team building activities. The dance programme is about engaging young people in a positive way during the school holidays. Students finish the week with a fun performance for family and friends. No dance experience is needed.
