Hit the Stage! school holiday theatre workshops

Mon 11 October to Fri 15 October 2021 for 7 -9 yrs and 10-12 yrs

Under the direction of the creative team from Tim Bray Youth Theatre, students will have the opportunity to explore their performance skills, build confidence, and create a unique piece of theatre, ready to ‘Hit the Stage!’ at the end of the week with a free entry performance for family and friends. Workshops are offered for kids aged 7 to 12 years.

The week is designed to build the young actor’s confidence and skill, incorporating aspects of stagecraft such as ensemble work, voice, movement, improvisation, characterisation, even singing and script work if required in the show.

Workshop runs from 9am to 3pm and extended hours from 8am to 5:30pm (4pm on final day) are included to cater for busy parents.

Every school holidays Kids Up Front works with enthusiastic boys and girls to put on a fabulous Musical Show and the July 2021 theme is yet to be announced. Children have singing, dancing and drama sessions in their age groups with specialist tutors. The programme culminates on the last day with a wonderful musical show in the theatre at 3pm for parents and friends to enjoy.

Each workshop is centered around a theme, with the October school holiday activities being based on Halloween.  Workshops inspire creative choices in music and script, offering a variety of Performing Arts classes during the school holidays with students working towards performing in a final showcase.

Full week, one day, two day and three day programmes run in each of the Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter school holidays.

TAPAC’s popular performing arts holiday programmes have been restructured to work in Level 2 with smaller class numbers to allow for social distancing. Programmes are taught by practicing industry professionals. No experience is required, there’s something to suit all abilities and ages from 5 to 17 years.

Dance away the holidays and join in the fun! Over one week 8 to 12 year olds learn a variety of dance techniques and routines with fun games and team building activities. The dance programme is about engaging young people in a positive way during the school holidays. Students finish the week with a fun performance for family and friends. No dance experience is needed.
