Join the fun at the annual Eye on Nature Whānau Day – a FREE day of activities and entertainment for the whole family!

Held at the beautiful Auckland Botanic Gardens, Eye on Nature Whānau Day is packed with hands-on activities, games, live entertainment and prizes.

This year, Eye on Nature is all about Incredible Kai. Not only does kai (food) nourish us and keep our bodies healthy, but our relationship with kai also affects the health of the planet. Food security and sustainability are becoming increasingly important on our collective journey to a greener future.

For the first time ever, Eye on Nature Whānau Day will feature a Sustainable Food Court. When it’s time to refuel, you can enjoy delicious kai from local street food vendors that’s good for your puku and the planet!

​Together with your friends and whānau, come to connect with nature, learn how to be more sustainable and have a blast. Don’t miss South Auckland’s signature environmental event!

Eye on Nature Whānau Day is hosted by the Beautification Trust and supported by Auckland Council, Auckland Botanic Gardens, Howick Local Board, Papakura Local Board, Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board, Franklin Local Board, Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board, Manurewa Local Board and their amazing partners and sponsors from around New Zealand.

Things you should know:

• To keep our community safe from COVID-19, My Vaccine Pass is required for entry and face coverings are encouraged.
• Free parking is available on site via the Everglade Drive entrance.
• This is a Zero Waste event. Please bring your own reusable drink bottle to fill up from our water stations.
