Drop in to the Te Uru Learning Centre on the first day of Open Studios Waitakere and take part in a free family workshop inspired by the botanical themes in their current exhibition On the Last Afternoon: Disrupted Ecologies and the Work of Joyce Campbell.
The workshop is suitable for children aged 5 years and up.
Enjoy the process of engaging with Campbell’s unique works and take your artwork home at the end of your visit.
On the Last Afternoon displays over 100 artworks across two floors of Te Uru, and explores the many ‘disrupted ecologies’ within our environment through nineteenth-century photographic techniques and other analogue processes. Through the exhibition, this can be seen in Campbell’s unique documentation of deserts, ice fields, reefs, ancient eels, remote rivers, botanicals, bacteria, and more.
