Sushi Sushi roll-your-own-sushi restaurant is opening in Auckland

New Zealand  is finally getting its own Sushi Sushi restaurant where you can roll-your-own-sushi. 

Sushi Sushi opens at Botany Town Centre on Thursday 2 May 2019.  The first 100 customers through the door on opening day will enjoy a free hand roll.

Sushi Sushi offers an accessible healthy feed with ‘grab and go’ fridges, hand roll cabinets and New Zealand’s first ‘Create Your Own Hand Roll Station’. Choose from more than 20 locally-sourced, fresh ingredients including pink beetroot rice, hot crispy chicken, salt and pepper squid, jalapenos and more.  ‘Hand roll artisans’ will delicately make the creation in full view.

The Grand Opening Matsuri will last a full month with celebrations including children’s sushi master classes, free Japanese calligraphy, cultural performances and the chance to win a trip for two to Japan.

Thursday 2 May – Taiko drumming demonstration and Calligraphy
Saturday 11 May – Sushi Sushi FREE Kid’s Masterclass
Saturday 18 May – Origami FREE workshop with artists Jean Francois Vognin

Sushi Sushi has been operating in Australia for more than 20 years.  Founded in Box Hill, Victoria, in 1998, the company now has 137 stores across Victoria, Western Australia, Queensland, Australian Capital Territory, South Australia, Northern Territory and Tasmania. Sushi Sushi plans to open 30 quick service restaurants throughout New Zealand with a second location set to open later this year and a third location in early 2020.
