As part of the Auckland Heritage Festival, Auckland Museum are opening up the Museum’s South Crescent rooftop for tours in the October school holidays.

Have a look at the Auckland Museum’s heritage restoration work. See how the building has developed over time and view the field of solar panels which are usually hidden from view below the roof parapet.

The highlight of the tour is the amazing views of the Waitematā harbour from the museum’s flag roof. As a bonus you can see how Auckland’s waterways, motorways and train lines have changed the face of Auckland over the years.

This tour is family-friendly and suitable for adults and children aged 8 and over. It does include stairs, so a moderate fitness level is required.

Rooftop tours are on Monday 2 October to Friday 6 October 2017 at 11am and Noon and are 45 minutes long. The tours are $10 each.

Sessions are limited to 15 people, so book early to secure a place.
