Dare to Explore - Kia Māia te Whai is back for the Summer School holidays at Auckland Libraries
Wondering what to do with the kids these holidays? Auckland Libraries has got you sorted with a fun, free reading adventure.
The Kia Māia te Whai Dare to Explore summer reading programme is an easy and fun way to keep your 5 to 12-year-olds busy over the holidays and helps to develop and maintain their love of reading over summer! This children’s reading adventure is designed to improve your child’s literacy and learning and encourages the use of te reo Māori.
With over 60 challenges to complete, there’s plenty to keep your kids entertained, whatever their interests. It’s also a great activity to do with others, so encourage your children’s friends to join the adventure.The programme can be completed in English or te reo Maōri and the activities can be completed whenever suits and wherever you are – at the library, online, on holiday or at home.
Sign up for free from 26 November at daretoexplore.nz for the bilingual Dare to Explore programme or register at kiamaiatewhai.nz for the programme in te reo Māori.Once you’ve registered, you can pick up your bilingual Dare to Explore or Kia Māia te Whai te reo Māori activity booklet at your local library from 10 December.
Kia Māia te Whai – Dare to Explore is at Auckland Libraries from 10 December 2018 to 21 January 2019. You can sign up your child and join in at any stage during the programme. For more information see: www.daretoexplore.nz
