Ellerslie Fairy Festival and Pirate Party is on Sunday 9 September from 10:30am to 12:30pm. This is one of our favourite Auckland events for families with young children. The festival is a fun free family event that celebrates the start of Magical September in Ellerslie.
Ellerslie’s Main Street is closed off to bring the enchanted kingdom of fairies and pirates to life with more than 30 fairies and pirates, shows, stories, facepainting, songs and more. Festival highlights include:
Roaming Fairies and Pirates, Pirate Cove and Fairy Grottos,

The popular General Collective Kids Market from 10am in the Arthur Street carpark,
Face painting, fairy and pirate hair, balloon twisting, story time and more
Magical September kicks off with the Ellerslie Fairy Festival & Pirate Party, and continues on with loads of other events and fun things to do during the month of September in Ellerslie, including:
