Snowplanet, one of the most popular indoor snow parks in the Southern Hemisphere, recently reopened it’s doors on 13th April 2023. After undergoing over 5 months of extensive refurbishment work, and despite the extreme weather events that hit the region earlier this year, the refurbishment stayed on track and successfully reopened just in time for the school holiday season.

Online bookings are open and John Howsam, General Manager, Sales and Marketing is pleased to say that everything is back in full swing.
“A lot of Aucklanders had been waiting for the slopes to reopen to fine tune their skiing and snowboarding skills, or just to have fun in the snow.”  The facility is fully open now.

A major aspect of the refurbishment work, which started in October 2022, was replacing the roof. As Howsam points out, this was “no mean feat for a facility that covers over 8000 square metres”.

Snowplanet offers a unique experience for skiing, snowboarding, and snowtubing on it’s snow-covered slopes, making it a must-visit destination for both tourists and locals. The park also has a spacious restaurant, a shop, and separate rooms for parties and corporate events.

“There’s plenty to enjoy, even if you’ve never skied before,” says Howsam, encouraging visitors to try their hand at skiing or snowboarding. With the reopening of Snowplanet, Aucklanders now have the perfect opportunity to fine-tune their skiing skills or have fun in the snow.
