Birthday parties are back at Auckland Museum! For a limited time, your kids can celebrate with a very special (and very large) party guest.

Peter is an incredibly rare, real T. rex skeleton, on display for the first time ever, in the Museum’s Te Ao Mārama South Atrium. The skeleton is extra special because mineral deposits have turned the bones jet black – making Peter one of only four black T. rex skeletons ever discovered.

Until September 4th you can book for an awesome 90 minute+ birthday adventure hosted by dino wrangler Dr Pennsylvania Smith. The kids will get to learn about what meeting a T. rex would really be like, go on a hunt around the museum’s galleries, examine some real fossils, get creative and even play a game or two!

Parents, you will be pleased to know the museum has made it super easy for you to organise  a T. rex Birthday Party. All you need to do is book your child’s birthday party and let your birthday party guests know the time and place. The Museum will do all the rest so you can relax and enjoy the party. You won’t need to bring decorations when the whole Museum is your party location.
