Te Rangi Hiroa Youth Park Adventure Playground

The unique Te Rangi Hiroa (Birdwood Winery Estate Reserve) playground in Ranui kept my son (Tristan 7 yrs), daughter (Cheverny 5 yrs) and their friends (Emily and Kate) entertained for ages! The children were fascinated by everything on offer, it looked so different from any other playground they have encountered. There are two hills in the playground covered with artificial turf and sloping at different angles on every side, creating many different and exciting play scenarios for children. A very unique obstacle course links the two hills. There is also a climbing wall on one side of the playground, a slide, and rows of tires on one side of the hill great for climbing. The playground design and layout is very creative and really feeds the imagination. Tristan and Cheverny really enjoyed playing hide and seek with their friends, with the climbing wall and hills providing excellent opportunities to hide and sneak up on each other.

Next to the playground there is a shaded picnic area, basketball court, and a large BMX track.

Te Rangi Hiroa Park in Ranui is designed for youth aged 12 years plus, but its also lots of fun for younger children too.
While we think the playground is mainly suitable for children aged 5 and over, active preschoolers would enjoy it too but should be closely supervised.
