We have two copies of the beautifully written and hand illustrated picture book Penguin’s Don’t Send Postcards by Jeanette Goode.
Penguins Don’t Send Postcards is the true story about a rare tawaki Fiordland crested penguin that got injured at sea and drifted thousands of kilometres away from it’s deep south home to rescued on Northland’s Ninety Mile Beach.
It is particularly relevant for reluctant readers as Jeanette has drawn the pictures to tell a slightly different and deeper story. It is a tale of adaption and survival, made possible with a little help from friends.
