Shaun Higgins, Curator Pictorial’s talk 180 Years of Photography from the Auckland Museum Collections is on Tuesday 17 August 2021 at 6pm and 7pm in the Library at Auckland Museum.
A show-and-tell style talk featuring a range of early photographs showing the transition from single shot images to mass production of photography for all. Photographs come in many shapes and sizes and can be made with all sorts of materials, some are much safer than others. Ever heard the phrase ‘mad as a hatter’? Come and see how daguerreotypes are part of this story.
