Event Details

Ahi Kaa is the concept of keeping the home fires burning, as well as the strength of family and community. The Matariki season provides a great opportunity for people to come together during the colder months, helping to create that sense of community and belonging. Write a message to a loved one, which will be transformed into nourishment for a flax plant that will be planted in the local community. Your whakaaro aroha (messages of love) will help the plants flourish and create a bond between you and Papatūānuku. Join the singing of the waiata maumahara, which has been composed for Matariki.
