Event Details

Transport yourself to a world of ice and snow through the wonder of virtual reality, and explore a day in the life of Australian Antarctic scientists as they research this mysterious continent. With 360-degree camera control and stunning video imagery, this is Antarctica as you’ve never seen it before.

The Antartica VR Experience is on at Auckland Museum from 18 December 2021 to 7 January 2022 (excluding Christmas Day and New Years Day).  Daily Sessions at 10.00AM, 11.00AM, 12.00PM and 1.00PM.

The Experience is being held on Level 1, in the Imaginarium.

Suitable for those 6+
This experience is not recommended for children under the age of 6, or people with certain medical conditions; glasses can be worn under the headset, but the focus cannot be adjusted. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Scan your My Vaccine Pass
From Friday 3 December, Auckland Museum will be requiring valid proof of vaccination or a medical exemption for all visitors aged 12+ via My Vaccine Pass.

Masks are Mandatory
Visitors aged 12+ are required to wear a mask at all times within the Museum, unless you are removing it to consume food or drink whilst seated at Tuitui Museum Bistro & Café, 1929 Espresso Bar or our Kai Room.
