Event Details

After receiving rave reviews at its 2018 Kia Mau Festival premiere, the life-affirming, verbatim play Barrier Ninja comes to Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau’s Herald Theatre on 19 to 21 June 2021.

Barrier Ninja is about hauora/health and weaves together nine very personal stories about experiences with the New Zealand health system – from medical professionals to patients and whānau. Created by Fran Kewene (Waikato / Maniapoto Tainui) and performed by Julie Edwards (Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Whare). 

This event is not recommended for children under age 3.
Children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by a caregiver who attends the event with the child.
Duration: 1 hour including post -show kōrero
