Changing Lanes is a collaborative project between Artweek, Auckland Council and Heart of the City, bringing together projects that will transform Auckland’s urban spaces temporarily as part of Artweek.

Freyberg Place
‘Animals Make Us Human’ by Andrea Gardner and Brit Bunkley

O’Connell Street
‘Mannekind’ by David Pirie

Durham Street East
‘Nests’ by Wanda Gillespie (Image above)
Wanda will be hanging a series of oversized bird’s nest overhead along Durham Street East. Illuminated eggs light up the nests at night, while the sound of native bird song fill the laneway, reminding us of the history of this unique land.

Exchange Lane
‘Ripple’ Angus Muir Design

Bledisloe Lane
‘Place’ by Shabnam Shiwan & Lloyd Osborne

Fort St/Jean Batten Place
‘Delusions of Canute’ by Margaret Lewis

Part of Artweek in the City Centre.
