Event Details

Get hands-on in the bush this EcoFest, with Restore Hibiscus and Bays at Depp Creek in Waiake on Auckland’s North Shore.

This group is full of energy and is working to get rid of weeds on both sides of Deep Creek. Recent work on the beach reserve has increased the beauty of the site, and we intend to add to this by eliminating many of the weeds. Infill planting has been carried out in Aickin Reserve to help stabilise the bank area.

WHEN: The group meets on the second Saturday of each month. 9am – 11am. You can stay for as long as you wish, and only have to help out when you are able.

WHERE: Meet by the green shed on Waiake Beach Reserve, 925 Beach Road, Waiake.

This is a great opportunity to meet other locals interested in restoring and protecting our local environment, and to learn more about native plant and animal species and how we care for and protect them.

This event is part of EcoFest, an annual month-long festival taking place Friday 15 March ā€“ Sunday 14 April 2024. Inspiring climate action across Tāmaki Makaurau, it is hosted in collaboration by EcoMatters, Kaipātiki Project, Beautification Trust and Waiheke Resources Trust, and proudly supported by Auckland Council.Ā
