Event Details

Join an informative walk through a local Tāmaki Makaurau bush reserve to learn more about the natural environment within our cities or simply enjoy a nice day out.

Guided by Andrew Mackenzie from reNature who has extensive experience working across Aotearoa’s native bush reserves. Topics of interest include: local flora and fauna, water management, ecology, archaeology, regulations and the challenges we are facing today.

Voluntary engagement from participants is encouraged to share their own personal matauranga, knowledge or experience.

Even in our densely developed Tamaki Makaurau one can engage with Papatuanuku. Plant-based and locally foraged refreshments will be made available on the day.

Auckland Climate Festival is a month-long festival held in Taamaki Makaurau every year creating space for us all to come together as a city to celebrate, catalyse and accelerate climate action.
Auckland Climate Festival is an annual festival held in Tāmaki Makaurau, creating space for us all to come together as a city to celebrate, catalyse and accelerate climate action. Through the Festival, Aucklanders can engage in climate action by attending a diverse range of events, initiatives and activations taking place all across the region. The festival’s programme is co-curated with communities, mana whenua, rangatahi, the private sector, advocacy groups and government as a whole-of-society response to the climate emergency.
