The Matakana Model Boat Show celebrates the connection between our people and our coast. Scale models are a tangible reminder of the pioneering spirit and skills base of our boat building industry.
Walk through maritime history, from early merchant ships to coastal ferries, traders, and pleasure craft. We are fortunate to display some of the finest naval models telling the story of how the Royal Navy and Royal New Zealand Navy evolved.
Pool Demonstrations – Many models are remote-controlled. Throughout the event, there will be demonstrations in the school pool, complete with marina, yacht club, and jetties inspired by maritime infrastructure from the area.
Meet the modellers and learn about the vessels on display.
Price
Adults $5:00, Children 5 – 12 yrs $3.00; Families $15:00.
