Event Details

Come along and help release the newly planted native trees from strangling weeds. Bindweed and kikuyu grass grow rapidly and if left alone can kill young plants. Enjoy the outdoors and learn about native fauna and flora and conservation in Aotearoa from experienced team leaders.

Please email Gemma at info@cvnz.org.nz or call us on 0800 567686 to register for this volunteer day.

Location: The exact location in Brookby will be sent to those who register via email

This event will go ahead rain or shine, however in the case of severe weather Conservation Volunteers New Zealand will email those that have registered to inform them of any cancellations.

What to wear: Please wear sturdy, comfortable footwear and preferably something you don’t mind getting muddy (gumboots, hiking shoes, work boots, trainers), appropriate outdoor clothing (lightweight long sleeved clothing and trousers are encouraged to protect yourself from cuts and scratches and insect bites/stings).

What to bring: Please bring with you a hat, waterproof jacket, sunblock, a snack, water and any medication you may need (hayfever medication, inhalers etc). There will be extra water, sunblock, snacks and insect repellent available on the day.

This event is part of EcoFest, an annual month-long festival taking place Saturday 18 March – Sunday 16 April 2023.
