New Zealand Opera Open Day

New Zealand Opera Open Day is back and this time it’s all about The Barber of Seville. Drop in to New Zealand Opera in Parnell on Saturday 18 May from 12:30-3:00pm to get a glimpse behind the scenes as we prepare to open this energetic and sassy production.

There’ll be a chance to watch the Freemasons New Zealand Opera Chorus in rehearsal with Director Lindy Hume and Conductor Wyn Davies, see the wigs and makeup team and the wardrobe department in action. You can try on costumes and join in some special activities.

This event is free and great fun for all ages. Please note there will be limited seating available in the rehearsal area.

Important transport note: Due to the location and the markets at La Cigale, driving to the Open Day is not recommend and you are better to use publich transport. Please note, La Cigale French Markets run from 8am – 1:30pm just next door.
