Celebrate the birthday of the City of Sails as hundreds of vessels take to the water under sail, steam and paddle power at Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta, one of the world’s biggest – and most historic – one-day regattas.
Waitemata Harbour Schedule 9:30am – Dragon Boat racing: Viaduct Harbour (360 dragon boaters) 10:00am – Tugboat Race: Capt Cook Wharf – Orakei – Capt Cook Wharf 10:45am – Tugboat display off Queen’s & Capt Cook Wharves 11.00am – Classic Launch Race: Westhaven – Orakei – Westhaven 11:15am – HMNZS MANAWANUI departs Capt Cook Wharf 12:00pm – Heritage A Class Gaff-rigged vessels depart Westhaven – one of the biggest fleets of authentically restored vessels in the world. 12:05pm – A Class Bermudan-rigged vessels followed by the prestigious Division 1-3 keelboats, Mullet Boats and Waka Ama at 12:35pm, Waka Hourua at 12:40pm 1:00pm Waitemata Harbour and Hauraki Gulf race fleets
