Event Details

As part of the Auckland Pride Festival 2022, Auckland Museum presents Pride Family Fun Day!

The museum warmly welcomes LGBTQIA+ families and their allies to a fun-filled day of craft activities and entertainment, including a DJ in Te Ao Mārama and drag queen storytime with Anita Wigl’it (from RuPaul’s Drag Race – Down Under) and Ivanna Drink in Te Whiwhinga, the Imaginarium.

Be welcomed by vibrant pavement chalk drawings as you enter the building into Te Ao Mārama – the South Atrium – which will be the base for crafts such as badgemaking and a giant handprint artwork. You’ll even be able to have your face (or arm) rainbow-painted.

The Learning Labs will be transformed into a rainbow chill-out room with music and more crafts to make. And if that isn’t enough, we’ll also be giving away sweet treats and spot prizes.

Auckland Museum is a safe and inclusive place for all, and welcomes all families to come and celebrate the richness of the society in which we live.

Happy Pride everyone!
