Join SPiCE and The Wild Initiative as we explore re-wilding a section of Watea Reserve. For local parks, re-wilding means stopping the regular mowing on slopes that is degrading our natural environment – killing life in the soil, and allowing loose soil to be washed away. The Wild Initiative will share their success in Grey Lynn Park and be on hand to answer any questions about the process and effects of re-wilding. Then do a walk around Watea Reserve to explore the best area for a “no-mow” request to Council.
Come along to support our Watea Reserve re-wilding project, or to simply learn more about re-wilding to put into action at your place!
