Don’t miss this once in a lifetime chance to explore the underground world of Auckland Museum where many of the treasures are stored.
Your guide will reveal how the Museum looks after the priceless collections and how they are kept safe for future generations. This is a rare opportunity to see some of the incredible objects that aren’t on display in our galleries and exhibitions.
August and September weekends are now sold out. Bookings are open for November and December weekends and the September and October school holiday weekdays.
This tour is suitable for people aged 11 and over.
Anyone aged 11 – 13 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

The tour is 45 minutes but allow an hour. The guides are always willing to stay afterwards to answer any questions you may have.
Secret Museum Tour tickets are $30 per person. General Admission to the museum is FREE for Auckland residents with proof of address. A donation is welcomed for visitors from the rest of New Zealand.
