Siva Afi Festival AAF

Event Details

Watch online at: on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March from 7pm to 9pm.

Due to New Zealand moving to RED under the COVID-19 Protection Framework, the live Siva Afi Festival event has been cancelled and moved online. Celebrate the exhilarating digital line-up of performances including: Popea Lautala, Le Taupou Manaia – Auckland, Tautua Dance and Wellington Siva Afi, Wahine Toa Afi Exhibition and more.

Watch the night light up with performers of this traditional, exhilarating Samoan art form as they showcase their talents and compete for glory, setting the Festival and Auckland region aflame with the fire of Polynesia at Māngere Arts Centre – Ngā Tohu o Uenuku.

Feel the heat, sense the excitement, and marvel at the skill of Polynesian warrior men and women as they demonstrate their battle prowess by mastering the fire knife dance.

Experience the phenomenon of siva afi ailao as South Auckland hosts a fire knife competition between local secondary schools alongside a free festival of wāhine toa afi performances, which are sure to light up Tāmaki Makaurau this summer.
