Tāmaki Herenga Waka: Stories of Auckland is a brand-new gallery sharing the stories of the people and places that make up Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.

From expansive audio-visual experiences reaching back through millennia to individuals telling their specific stories of place, Tāmaki Herenga Waka: Stories of Auckland lets you take a look at Tāmaki like you’ve never seen it before.

With more than 60 stories, 500 objects, 25 films, and lots of interactive experiences the new galleries truly have something for everyone in your family to enjoy!

The museum is open 10AM – 5PM weekdays, 9AM – 5PM weekends and public holidays. Open until 8.30PM every Tuesday evening.

Price

General Admission entrance is FREE for Auckland residents and Auckland Museum Members, or by donation for those from the rest of New Zealand.

You’ll need to bring your Auckland Museum Membership or MyMuseum card, or proof of address such as a library card or utility bill.
