Event Details

For the first time, visitors can explore the new immersive science and technology centre, which offers all the whiz-bang fun the whole whānau will love. Littlies can enjoy Te Tumu, the under 5s play space, where they get to touch, climb, and crawl over and under Tane Mahuta, a waka on the puna, a puriri tree nest and more.

Older kids can get active on the energy machine using teamwork to trigger the cannon, immerse themselves in an upright rainbow or create a seven-metre-wide pattern projection, to name just a few of the hands-on activities to try.

During grand opening weekend there’s also an array of robotics-themed workshops, featuring a roaming robot, story sessions and face painting. Mix in live music, food trucks and games, and visitors can be sure of a fun-filled science and tech day out.
