Calling all aspiring fantasy writers! Do you enjoy building an exciting fictional world, complete with creatures, characters, and scenes that transcend reality as we know it?

Join New Zealand fantasy author of the Broken Spell Series, J.M. Goldie, in a FREE two-hour workshop for teens aged 13-18 years at Waitākere Central Library (Henderson) on Saturday 23 August, 10am-12pm.

In this session, you will:

• Explore world-building and character development ideas
• Learn key tips and tools and get inspired to begin your own fantasy stories. Perfect for aspiring young authors!
• Share ideas and discover the power of storytelling in a supportive and creative environment

About the facilitator:

J.M. Goldie is a New Zealand author of teen/young adult fantasy books and stories for children and adults. With a background in journalism, she’s been writing from the get-go.
Her books include The Broken Spell series – a magical fantasy adventure series – and A Mer-tale, a fantasy mermaid novella. She also has several short stories in science fiction and fantasy anthologies.

Transport, parking and accessibility:

A public car park is located at the back of the library for $4 per day. There is also free parking available nearby (street and mall) at your own discretion. If you are taking public transport, the nearest bus stop is 5837 outside Unitec Waitakere.

There is mobility parking off-street and in the car park building available, with a level path to the entrance and automatic doors. Accessible toilets are also available.
