This well-established chamber choir will perform music from many centuries at the Pah Homestead as part of the Auckland Heritage Festival and Auckland Artweek.
The Orlando Singers are a small chamber choir, active in music making in Auckland since 1972 and are led by Costa Simpson. They present several concerts each year, tour to many New Zealand centres and have appeared as guest artists in several overseas festivals. In recent years these have included festivals in Hobart and Brisbane and also as the guest choir in the New Caledonian “Les Voix du Sud” Festival.
The choir’s repertoire is mainly unaccompanied and ranges from the Renaissance to the 21st Century. In this concert “Voices of Auckland” the programme will feature music to mark the final day of the Auckland Heritage festival at the Pah, with works by local composers as well as some traditional and modern favourites.
Wallace Arts TrustLaunched in 1992 by founder Sir James Wallace, the vision of the Wallace Arts Trust is to support, promote and expose New Zealand contemporary artists while providing the wider public with an inimitable cultural and historical resource of contemporary New Zealand art.
