Event Details

Testing the limits of interactive art, this major new installation contains free-standing mechanical structures, appearing like strange sports equipment, programmed and loaded with hundreds of tennis balls, ready to be released into the air and collected intermittently by a team of voluntary agents. James Charlton’s THROWN challenges your position in the exhibition, and asks, are you, the audience, a participant, performer, or object?

At Alert Level Two, Te Uru is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 4.30pm.
