This interactive concert presented by Kath Bee and narrated by Donovan Bixley at The Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna is the perfect way to introduce your little ones to the orchestra.
From graceful swans to busy farmyards and cheeky spiders, this lively, animal-themed concert brings favourite creatures to life through music. Young listeners will delight in classics like The Swan from Carnival of the Animals, toe-tapping fun with Old MacDonald had a Farm, the breezy charm of Incy Wincy Spider, and more orchestral surprises along the way.
The main event will be a special orchestral retelling of Donovan Bixley’s children’s book The Fantabulous Animal Orchestra, narrated live by the author himself. Watch the story leap off the page as the orchestra paints each character and moment with sound, accompanied by screened illustrations from the book.
The concert finishes with our signature Orchestra Walkthrough, where the audience can wander through the orchestra to see and hear the musicians playing up close!
