NZ Sailing Trust aims to inspire, educate and motivate our young people to learn about our environment and come sailing and what better way than to sail on the Lion NZ maxi yacht. Leave Auckland behind and explore the Hauraki Gulf under sail. Lunch stop and swim at Motuihe Island or similar island in the Hauraki Gulf.
Lion NZ is an ex Whitbread Round the World racing yacht that was sailed by Sir Peter Blake. Lion NZ has recently had a full refit and is ready to take our young people out to explore the Gulf.
No experience necessary, just a sense of adventure and fun. Hot drinks and safety gear provided.
Minimum age is 12 years to sail on the Lion NZ Yacht. Children aged 12 to 14 years must be accompanied by an adult. Individuals of 14 years of age and over are not required to have an adult with them, but they must however have parental consent.
Bookings are essential. In the event the trip is cancelled due to bad weather or otherwise, the booking can be transferred to another appropriate sailing or a full refund will be provided.
Youth $120 per person
Adult $160 per person
Lunch is not included but this can be added on for an additional $12 per person.
