Women and equality in Aotearoa exhibition at Auckland Museum

Are We There Yet? exhibition  at Auckland Museum celebrates the 125th anniversary of women’s suffrage in Aotearoa – but how far has New Zealand really come since women gained the vote?

This contemporary exhibition examines the successes and speed-bumps of gender equality so far, and where to next. Equal pay, reproductive rights, gendered violence, online trolling, legal rights and body image are all up for discussion and interrogation.  We think the exhibition is best suited to children aged 10 years plus, teenagers and adults to learn about the history of women’s journey to equality in New Zealand and to think about how far there is still to go.

The exhibition is on until Sunday 20 January 2019 in the Special Exhibitions Hall at Auckland Museum and is FREE for Aucklanders to visit. For more information about the exhibition see: http://www.aucklandmuseum.com/visit/exhibitions/are-we-there-yet-women-and-equality-in-aotearoa.
