Knot Touch exhibition at the New Zealand Maritime Museum

PAST EXHIBITION – NO LONGER SHOWING

Auckland for Kids visited the Knot Touch exhibition at the New Zealand Maritime Museum in the summer school holidays.

Knot Touch is a fun installation by Jae Kang that children (and adults) of all abilities can touch and enjoy. My children had fun making up their own games to playing in the orange fishing nets, hoops and coloured fishing floats, buoys and knotted ropes.

Next to the installation there is an area where you can learn how to tie eight basic knots: the reef knot, bowling, sheet bend, clove hitch, rolling and anchor blend.   Even if you have been to the Maritime Museum recently, it’s still worth calling in again to see Knot Touch.
