We all consumed a lot of art during lockdown, either on purpose or by accident. But we also all learned the value of being able to go out when we weren’t allowed to. Or, conversely, we felt the power of staying in, and how comfortable and familiar that felt to those of us who live with anxiety, or even just a mild preference for enjoying things on our own. Fortunately, there’s art for all of that.

Bubble living was a glimpse into the privilege of the everyday, about access to spaces that we took for granted, about doing the right thing, about missing ‘the world’. If you watched a film during lockdown, if you listened to music or if you admired a building on a walk then you will have realised that art is valuable to you.
